Do I need to fax a copy of layout even if I'm e-mailing file?
Yes, it is preferred to ensure proper layout of your order, especially if your order is made up of multiple pieces of artwork. [Back to FAQ]
What kind of compression software can I use to compress my files before submitting?
DropStuff or WinZip are the preferred methods. [Back to FAQ]
How do files get corrupt?
There are numerous possibilities. The file could have been saved on a damaged disk. Floppy and ZIP disks are easily affected by magnetic fields. If a file is sent electronically "unprotected" (uncompressed) file corruption can occur. Any "outside factor" while the file is in transit could potentially damage the file. [Back to FAQ]
What DPI must files be created in for printing?
We recommend minimum 600 DPI for bitmap images and 300 DPI for grayscale or photo images. Lower resolutions can be printed with understanding of poor quality and dealers permission or request. [Back to FAQ]
What fonts do you have available?
Available fonts are listed in our dealers' catalogs, but you can use any font so long as you use an art program that can embed the fonts. Embedding the font converts it to art and therefore cannot be edited. Different programs do this in different ways, but the most common are converting fonts to outlines or text to curves. See your art program's documentation or help files if you are unsure how this is done within your application. [Back to FAQ]
Why do I sometimes get more than one call about a problem with my file?
Our Art Department checks the art first and tries to locate all possible problems at once. If we request art to be resent because it did not follow our guidelines a new error can occur that will result in another call. [Back to FAQ]
What is the normal turnaround time for an order?
Normal turnaround time for a social order is same day for orders received before 11:00 a.m. Central Standard Time. Orders after 11:00 am CST are next day. Commercial 1-color orders will ship next day for orders received by 12:00 p.m. CST and 1-color orders after 12:00 p.m. CST will ship in 2 days. Commercial 2-color orders have a 2-day service time with the 12:00 p.m. cut off time for day. Orders with certain color combinations or special setups or such will take extra time to produce. [Back to FAQ]
